Police continue to search from man wanted in attempted abduction

Narragansett Police continue to search for a suspect wanted for trying to abduct a woman.

Police say, a man, wielding a gun, tried to abduct a woman Friday afternoon while she was out jogging.

According to a press release from Narragansett PD, the attempted abduction happened around 4 p.m. on Ocean Road near the Point Judith Country Club.

The 20-year-old woman told police the suspect grabbed her from behind and threatened her with a gun and tried forcing her into his pickup truck. However, she was able to fight off her attacker.

Police tell ABC6 News the suspect fled in his truck, which is described at “teal blue” with Connecticut license plates. The vehicle was last seen driving southbound on Ocean Road towards Scarborough Beach.

The victim is described as height and weight and is either Hispanic or a dark-skinned Caucasian around 30-years-old. He has dark hair, and a “helmet strap” type-beard.
