Police ID Westerly teen killed in highway crash

Rhode Island State Police have identified the Westerly teen killed in a motor vehicle crash in Hopkinton on Monday.

16-year-old Felecia Bolduc pronounced deceased on the scene of the crash that happened around 9:45 p.m. on Route 95 South, between Exits 1 and 2.

Bolduc was the passenger in her uncle’s car, 28-year-old Obdulion Rosado, who was driving southbound when he tried to pass another vehicle in the breakdown lane, causing them to collide.

Rosado was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the second car was not injured.

Police say speed was a factor, but the accident remains under investigation by the RISP Hope Valley Barracks and the Collision Reconstruction Unit.

A GoFundMe page has been created to help cover the cost of Felecia’s funeral arrangements.
