Police identify 67-year-old passenger killed in Cumberland head-on crash

CUMBERLAND, R.I. (WLNE) — Cumberland police on Thursday identified the 67-year-old passenger who was killed in a head-on crash earlier this week.

The crash happened Monday on Mendon Road.

Police said the driver of the car entered the wrong lane of travel after suffering a medical episode.

Chief Matthew Benson said Marie Mollicone, who’s from Woonsocket, suffered serious injuries. She was taken to the hospital, where she later died.

The driver of that car and the passengers of the other vehicle — two adults and two children — were all taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
