Police identify man found dead inside Middletown home

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — Middletown police has identified the person found dead inside a home Tuesday.

Police identified the victim as 39-year-old John Edward-Corbett.

Police said they responded to West Main Road home to perform a welfare-check as Edward-Corbett has not been heard from for several days.

Officers entered the home and discovered his body.

“The Middletown Police Department extends its deepest sympathies to the Edward-Corbett family. We also request that members of the press respect the privacy of the
family at this difficult time,” police said in a statement.

The cause of death will be determined by the Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s Office.

Middletown police said they will host a news briefing regarding the incident Friday.
