WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Warwick police on Monday identified the motorcyclist that was killed in a crash over the weekend.

The crashed happened just after 3:30 a.m. Saturday near Warwick Avenue.

Police said Christopher Lambert, of Woonsocket, was travelling north on Oakland Beach Avenue when he hit a curb at the traffic island before the intersection of Warwick Avenue.

Capt. Robert Hart said Lambert, who’s 31 years old, then lost control of the motorcycle, hitting a second curb before hitting a tree and being thrown from the motorcycle.

Hart said a second motorcyclist was in the area at the time of the crash. They’re now searching for that person and any witnesses.

Police said speed appears to be a significant factor in this crash.
