Police identify victim in fiery East Providence rollover crash

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The East Providence Police Department identified the victim of a fiery crash that happened on Sunday.

According to police, 28-year-old Alexsander Rodriguez Santos, of East Providence, was pronounced dead on the scene after his car crashed.

Officials said they responded to reports of a car crash in the area of Veterans Memorial Parkway and Burgess Avenue just before 5 a.m., Sunday morning.

When officers arrived, they found a sedan that had rolled over onto its passenger side, fully engulfed in flames.

East Providence firefighters worked to quickly extinguish the fire and found Santos dead in the car.

The crash remains under investigation by East Providence police.
