Police investigate unwanted advances on several women by same man

NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WLNE) – Police departments in South County are investigating complaints of a man approaching multiple women.
Narragansett Police report a man approached women in various parking lots, convenience stores and shopping outlets throughout Town.
Officials said the man would approach the women while appearing to be speaking on his cellular phone. He would compliment them, solicit them for a date and ask to exchange phone numbers. The behavior of the male has been described as overly flirtatious, disturbing and unwanted.
According to officials, incidents have occurred in Narragansett, South Kingstown and at the University of Rhode Island.
Narragansett Police have identified the man and spoke with him regarding his behavior. They did not arrest him as his actions were not considered criminal.
Police are in the process of serving the male with trespass notices at various shopping plazas in Narragansett.
