DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE) – Police have arrested the man wanted for robbing an elderly woman outside a Dartmouth bank. They say he committed the same crime AGAIN Tuesday, then crashed into a cruiser.

An off-duty Dartmouth officer witnessed Miguel Brasil throw a 72-year-old woman to the ground outside the Rite-Aid on Dartmouth Street Tuesday afternoon. Police went after him, but he took off – leading police into New Bedford.

There, police say Brasil crashed into a Dartmouth cruiser. Neither were seriously injured.

Brasil is now facing several charges, including felony unarmed robbery, since both victims were over the age of 60.

Police were searching for Brasil after he was seen on surveillance knocking a 76-year-old woman to the ground outside Citizens Bank on Dartmouth Street Monday morning.

Police say he stole the victim’s pocketbook before fleeing the scene in a silver Toyota Corolla.

The victim was evaluated on the scene for minor injuries.
