Attleboro police investigating drive-by shooting, over 15 shell casings recovered

This was the the third shooting in three weeks in the city.

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE)- The Attleboro Police Department is looking for who is responsible for a drive-by shooting that happened on the east side of the city around 8 p.m. Monday night.

Over 15 shell casings were recovered out front of a home on Holman Street. Police say no one was hurt.

Ruben Gutierrez was standing on his phone in his driveway when the shooting happened, just feet away from where the bullets hit.

“I just heard a whole bunch of noises, and left right away,” Gutierrez says.

This is the third shooting that has happened in the city in the past three weeks- all are which are believed to be targeted and isolated incidents.

“This is the most unfortunate disturbance to the city and the neighbors that it impacted. It is in ongoing investigation. If anyone saw anything, please contact Attleboro Police Department. The police are going to need the help of the public to apprehend the person or people who did this,” said Mayor Paul Heroux.

There are no suspects in custody.

Police are looking for for a light colored Jeep SUV, possibly with a Florida license plate in connection to the incident.

Officials say they are reviewing surveillance video.
