Police investigating New Bedford animal cruelty case

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) – New Bedford Police are investigating an animal cruelty incident that happened Wednesday afternoon.

New Bedford Police say they responded to an address in the city’s West End after they received reports of cruelty to a dog.

One adult dog and three puppies were taken by animal control and police from the home for further evaluation by a Forensic Vet.

Police say the dogs did not appear to be injured but are being examined to be sure.

The incident is still under investigation by the New Bedford Police Department and New Bedford Animal Control.
