Police investigating report of shots fired in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Police are investigating after a report of shots fired early this morning.

According to Providence Police, officers responded to a report of shots fired shortly after 4 a.m. this morning on Debroah Street.  Officers met with Vincent Gonzalez, who stated that an unknown person drove by, shooting at Gonzalez, his girlfriend, and a friend in his vehicle four times.

Police observed a bullet hole on the drivers side door, and a projectile on the ground next to the vehicle.

Gonzalez and another male subject said that they were having a party, when an unknown man came and an argument began.  The subject left the party, and later returned in an older model black Toyota Camry and began shooting at their vehicle.

More information will be released as the investigation is ongoing.
