Police look for suspect in armed bank robbery

Cranston Police are looking for a suspect in an armed bank robbery Wednesday afternoon.

Police say the suspect walked into the Santander Bank on Reservoir Ave at around 12:30 p.m.

The man approached an employee at the bank threatening to have a handgun and demanding money.

Police describe the suspect as young white male with a small, thin build. He was wearing baggy blue jeans, red sneakers, a bluish/green striped t-shirt and a green Boston Celtics baseball cap.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity or whereabouts to contact Detective Captain Sean Carmody of the Cranston Police Detective Bureau at (401) 477-5143.
