Police look for suspects in string of Warwick trash fires

By Jennifer Petracca

Warwick Police are looking for suspect in a number of trash fires that have been reported across the city recently.

The fires have been reported at four locations in the areas of Wildes Corner and Buttonwoods, where trash and yard waste collections on the corners outside residences were set on fire early Monday morning.

After 11 p.m. that day, police say a second series of trash fires occurred in the Buttonwoods area again, this time three were reported.

All fires were quickly extinguished, but one parked vehicle did sustain minor smoke and flame damage.

Police believe all the fires are related, and are looking for a dark colored sedan with tinted windows that was seen near at least two of the fires, and may be involved.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Warwick Police TIPS line: (401) 732-8477.
