Police make an arrest in reported Central Falls shooting

CENTRAL FALLS, R.I (WLNE) – Central Falls police currently have a suspect in custody for an involvement in a shooting where a teenager was shot and wounded on Saturday. 

On April 28th, at approximately 10:02 p.m, officers were dispatched to the area of Beacon and Perry street for a reported shooting. 

Upon arrival, authorities found a juvenile male who suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body while riding his bike in the area. He was rushed to Hasbro Children’s Hospital in serious condition. 

The juvenile victim is still at the hospital but is expected to make a full recover, police say.

The department said members of the detective bureau began an investigation immediately, where they recovered evidence and obtained information of where the subject resided. 

Detectives identified the subject as 28-year-old Eric Silva, of 15 Beacon Street. 

Silva was placed under arrest and facing charges of; Felony Assault with a Firearm; Firing in Compact Area. 

Silva was held overnight at police headquarters and arraigned Sunday morning in 6th District court in Providence and will be held on $40,000 bail with surety on the charges.
