Police make quick arrest in New Bedford armed robbery

New Bedford Police made a quick arrest after an armed robbery at a Dunkin Donuts Monday morning.

Police say the robbery happened just before 5:30 a.m. at the store on Union Street. A female clerk told police a male came in with his hands in his sweatshirt pocket indicating he had a weapon.

The man demanded money and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police were able to quickly identify 35-year-old David Brown of 263 Acushnet Ave. and arrested him around 9:15 a.m. at his home.

Brown is charged with Armed Robbery.

Brown was also arrested late last month on gun and drug charges.
