Police: Man connected to 18 bank robberies arrested

WOONSOCKET, R.I. — A serial bank robber connected to robberies in Woonsocket has been captured, according to police.

The man has been identified as the suspect in the December 2nd robberies of the Bank of America on John Cummings way and the Citizens Bank on Cumberland Street in Woonsocket.

The suspect, Stephen Silva, of Springfield Massachusetts was busted in Vermont after robbing a bank.

He was taken into custody and is now being connected to 18 other bank robberies on the East Coast.
