A man died after being tased by police during an incident in Fall River.

On Monday afternoon, police responded to a home on Mount Hope Ave to serve arrest warrants on a woman.

When officers arrived, they say a woman and a man began to interfere with officers, preventing them from arresting the wanted female.

She was arrested, but the man continued to resist officers. An officer used his taser in the "Drive Stun" mode to the man’s buttocks, not in the traditional fashion with prongs being discharged.

After the tazing, the man was arrested for assault and battery of a police officer, resisting arrest and interfering with a police officer. He was then walked to a police cruiser.

The man went into cardiac arrest and was transported to St. Anne’s Hospital where he died. He was identified as 48-year-old Scott Macomber of Brockton.

The death is being investigated by the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office and the Medical Examiner.
