Police: Man seriously injured last month dies at hospital

WARREN, R.I. (AP) — A 54-year-old man found seriously injured in Warren last month has died, police said Thursday.

Richard Raymond, succumbed to his injuries at Rhode Island Hospital on Sunday, police said.

Officers responding to reports of a disturbance involving two men and a juvenile on Aug. 28 found the victim on the ground suffering from severe injuries allegedly caused by an aluminum bat. Police also found a knife at the scene.

The adults knew each other and one of them knew the juvenile, but their exact relationship has not been disclosed and what led to the violence remains under investigation. There have been no arrests.

The case has been sent to the state Attorney General’s office for review.
