A man in South Providence told police he was stabbed during an altercation over a scratch ticket.

Police say they found the man at a bus stop near 343 Broad Street, Sunday around 11:30.

The officers noticed the 29-year-old man was stabbed in the stomach and had a laceration on his left arm. The man says he was stabbed hours earlier at the bus stop, but police found no evidence of a crime scene in the area.

When questioned, the victim said he fought with a stranger over a scratch ticket; he was very uncooperative in giving more details.

The man was transported to Rhode Island Hospital.

His injuries were non-life-threatening.
