Police: Mother of dead baby found in recycling facility could be in danger

ROCHESTER, Mass. (WLNE) — Employees at Rochester’s Zero Waste Solutions recycling facility discovered the remains of a newborn girl on Thursday.

Since the discovery, Massachusetts State Police have been asking the public for any information on the incident.

Authorities said Monday, “the investigation to date suggests that the health and welfare of the mother may be at risk — identifying her as soon as possible is of paramount importance and urgency.”

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner began post-mortem examination on the remains. Results from the examination were not immediately released.
