MILTON, MASS (WLNE) – Two people were placed into custody with Massachusetts State Police after a Friday morning pursuit.

Just after 2:00 AM, a Trooper from the Milton Barracks located a vehicle that was linked to a call from Boston PD for a shots fired incident.

Two other troopers responded to assist, and the three MSP patrols attempted to stop the vehicle on Route 24, south of Harrison Blvd at Exit 19.

According to police, the vehicle’s driver refused to stop and a pursuit was authorized.

The suspect vehicle took Exit 18, Route 27 South, into Brockton, where the pursuit was called off.

Cruisers were able to observe the vehicle continue at a high rate of speed down Route 27 toward Brockton.

Police say as the vehicle approached the intersection of Route 27 and West Avenue, the driver lost control and crashed into a pole.

Both occupants were taken into custody, and Boston PD was notified.

Two firearms were recovered from the vehicle.

Both occupants are pending release from the hospital, at which point they will be booked on various charges, said police.
