Police search for hit-and-run driver who seriously injured pedestrian

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE)- Police in Massachusetts are searching for the driver of an SUV involved in a hit-and-run that left a pedestrian seriously injured.

Massachusetts State Police and Fall River Police said a woman was hit on April 27 in the parking lot of the Fall River Heritage State Park on Water Street.

The car involved was described as a red SUV believed to be a 2014-2016 Chevrolet Equinox.

After hitting the pedestrian, the driver of the SUV fled south on Water Street. Police said they believe the driver was a “young adult woman who had a small child as a passenger.”

The victim, a 55-year-old Florida woman, is recovering from serious injuries at Rhode Island Hospital.
