Police search for suspects in New Bedford cab driver robbery

New Bedford
Police are looking for a man who robbed and stabbed a cab driver on Thursday
evening.

The
46-year-old victim was driving down Mitchell
Street from Sawyer Street when two men crossed in
from of his cab, yelling for him to slow down. The driver stopped the cab and
the men approached and pulled him from the vehicle.

One of the
suspects stabbed the driver in the thigh and took an undisclosed amount of
cash. The suspects then fled toward Sawyer
Street.

The cab driver
was transported to St. Luke's Hospital where he was treated and released.

The suspects
are described as two men in their twenties. One of the suspects was black,
wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt standing approximately 5'10. The other is
described as Hispanic wearing a white hooded sweatshirt standing about 5'7 with
a husky build.
