Police seize narcotics, guns from Brockton father, son

BROCKTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Massachusetts State Police said two men were arrested after they were found to be in possession of ghost guns and hundreds of grams of narcotics.

Police said a three-month investigation lead to the arrest of two suspects in a gun and drug trafficking operation.

Shem Khattiya, 38, and his son, Nathen Khattiya, 20, both of Brockton, were arrested on a litany of charges.

Troopers said they executed a search warrant on a Moraine Street residence and on a 2016 Audi A7 sedan and observed evidence of gun and drug trafficking.

During the raid, authorities seized seven ghost guns, pistols and rifles, as well as ammunition, gun parts, multiple large-capacity magazines, manufacturing tools and equipment as well as other guns in various states of manufacture.

Police said their also seized 834 grams of fentanyl, related cutting-agents, and a mill and kilogram press used in the manufacturing and packaging of drugs for illicit sales.

Shem Khattiya was charged with the following:

  • Trafficking fentanyl
  • Trafficking firearms
  • Distribution of a Class-C narcotic (Xanax)
  • Unlawful possession of a firearm (Seven counts)
  • Unlawful possession of ammunition
  • Unlawful possession of a large-capacity feeding device (29 counts)
  • Receiving stolen property (Firearm)

Nathen Khattiya was charged with the following:

  • Unlawful possession of ammunition
  • Unlawful possession of a large-capacity feeding device (Three counts)
