Police: Two found dead in Woonsocket home

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) – Police are investigating after two people were found dead in a Woonsocket home Sunday morning.

Woonsocket Police responded to a residence on Bluestone Drive shortly before 10 a.m. Sunday morning after receiving reports of shots fired.

Police attempted to make contact with someone in the residence for over an hour but were unsuccessful. A tactical team reported to the scene and conducted a forced entry.

Inside the home, police found two bodies – one of a man in his 50s, and another of a woman in her 40s. Both bodies had gunshot wounds.

Also inside the house was a 7-year-old who was unharmed. Police escorted the child out of the residence.

For a number of hours Sunday morning, Police closed off the immediate area. All streets have since been reopened.

The relationship between the two deceased individuals has not been released.

An investigation is underway. At this time, the incident is being investigated as a homicide.
