Police: Two men stabbed in Providence hotel, suspect arrested

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- Two men were stabbed in a Providence hotel early Sunday morning.

Providence Police Commander Thomas Verdi told ABC6 News officers responded to the Graduate Hotel just before 1 a.m. for a report of two people stabbed.

Officers found the two victims inside a hotel room.

A police report said there were several other people in the room celebrating a ‘small birthday party.’

During the party, an argument began, and one man called or texted friends.

The report noted a short time later there was a knock at the door, and ‘several male subjects rushed in and a disturbance took place.’

Police said two men ages 19 and 20, were stabbed in their midsections. They were both taken to Rhode Island Hospital and in stable condition.

Damani Green, 35, from Providence was arrested Monday evening and charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
