PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Gov. Dan McKee’s favorability has ticked up after previously being ranked the least popular governor in the United States, according to a new poll released Tuesday by Morning Consult.

The survey of Rhode Island registered voters showed that 47% approved of the job McKee is doing, while 38% disapproved.

McKee ranks 46th among governors in the United States, according to the poll.

In July, the poll found that Mckee was the least popular governor in the country in terms of constituent approval, with an approval rating of 38%.

Meanwhile, Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker is ranked the nation’s most popular governor, with a 78% approval rating.

The data is based on responses collected July 1 through Sept. 30 among registered voters in each state.
