Pope Francis’ visits Washington D.C.

Huge crowds flocked to Pope Francis where ever he went today.The people’s pope having an especially powerful effect on young people.

Including a little girl, who got past a security barricade. Before being sent back, she’s stopped by the Pope’s security. This as the holy father is urging them to get her to the Pope–mobile. Then the girl was whisked away to see Pope Francis.Getting a hug and a kiss, while handing off a letter.

"my heart is sad because of the discrimination —my friends and i love each other no matter the color of our skin."

The Pope’s day started at the White House. Where president Obama praised Francis as a force for change in the world and an ally, especially on the environment.

"Holy father, you remind us that we have a sacred obligation to protect our planet, god’s magnificent gift to us,"says President Obama.

It’s a sentiment that Pope Francis echoed minutes later, while calling for action on climate change.

"Climate change is a problem which can no longer be left to a future generation," says Pope Francis.

Later the Holy Father was swarmed by crowds as he was greeted at the Cathedral of Saint Mathew the Apostle.

And finally, history made at the largest Catholic church in the country. As 25–thousand people watched as Pope Francis made an 18th century Franciscan Monk a Catholic Saint. Cannonizing someone on US soil for the first time ever.
