Portions of Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos to reopen June 1

Both casinos will be catering to Connecticut and Rhode Island residents only.

MASHANTUCKET and UNCASVILLE, CT (WLNE) – Two federally recognized tribes with reservations in Connecticut say they’ll begin phase one in reopening portions of their reservations on June 1.

As part of phase one, the Mashantucket Pequot will reopen portions of Foxwoods Resort Casino and the Mohegan Tribe will reopen portions of Mohegan Sun Casino to the public on Monday, June 1.

Both casinos are operated on Native American sovereign land.

Neither property will open its concert venues, buffets, poker rooms, and tenant restaurants will be open for take-out only.

Additionally, both casinos say they will cater to Connecticut and Rhode Island residents only.

A spokesperson for the tribes says no out-of-state marketing to New York or Massachusetts will take place at either property. Also, no out-of-state buses will be accepted.

Both Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Casinos have more information about their response to COVID-19 on their websites.
