PORTSMOUTH, R.I. (WLNE) — A student at Portsmouth High School is accused of making threatening comments against the school Tuesday.

Police said they worked with the family of that student to make sure they didn’t have a gun. They then conducted a search at the school out of an abundance of caution.

As a result, Portsmouth police increased their presence Wednesday at the school.
