NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — A Portsmouth man accused of killing his landlord will be arraigned in Newport County Superior Court on Thursday.

Jacob Morrill, 25, was arrested in May in connection to the death of his landlord, Xue Feng Wu of Tiverton.

Authorities said Morrill and Wu got into an argument in the garage of a home on West Main Road. Morrill is accused of hitting Wu, 50, in the head with a small handheld axe.

He is further accused of hiding his body in a tarp in the woods.

Morrill was indicted earlier this month with one count of first-degree murder, one count of driving a vehicle without consent of the owner, and one count of credit card fraud.
