Portsmouth man arrested for indecent solicitation of a 15-year-old

PORTSMOUT, R.I. (WLNE)- Steven Peterson, 26, of Portsmouth was arrested on Tuesday for soliciting an explicit photo of a child.

Police found through investigations that Peterson allegedly asked for the photo from a 15-year-old girl.

Peterson is the Executive Director of Portsmouth non-profit Be Great for Nate. The organization, named after a 15-year-old who committed suicide, empowers youth by providing health social emotional development and support.

Police were able to make the arrest without incident.

Peterson is expected to be arraigned today.
