Portsmouth Native, St. Andrews’ Product Cole Swider to Transfer from Villanova

Junior forward Cole Swider (Portsmouth, R.I./St. Andrews School) will enter his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal, it was announced today.

“Cole has decided to explore his options in the transfer market, and we are fully supportive of his decision,” stated Villanova head coach Jay Wright. “Throughout his time with us, Cole has done everything in his power to become the best Villanova Basketball player he can be. He’s been a great representative of our University and we will work with him as he navigates this process.”

Swider, 6-9, has played three seasons at Villanova and appeared in 77 games, earning 17 starting assignments. In 2020-21 he averaged 18.8 minutes, 5.7 points and 2.8 rebounds per game while connecting on .402 of his attempts from beyond the 3-point arc. He appeared in all 25 contests for the Wildcats (18-7 overall), who earned the BIG EAST regular season title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 for the seventh time since 2005.
