PORTSMOUTH, R.I. (WLNE) – A Portsmouth school employee has been arrested on charges including for soliciting a child online.

State Police had been investigating 32-year-old Douglas Marcel for a month after a 14-year-old girl from Pennsylvania told her parents he had been sending her nude photos.

A search of Marcel’s residence revealed heroin and packaging materials.

Marcel was arrested and charged with the Indecent Solicitation of a Child, Electronically Disseminating Indecent Material to a Minor and Possession of Heroin with Intent to Deliver

30-year-old Kaytlin Rogala, identified as Marcel’s girlfriend, was also arrested and charged with Possession of Heroin with Intent to Deliver.

Marcel was issued $50,000 surety, with special bail conditions specifying restricted internet use and no contact with minors.

Marcel, a Classroom Behavioral Specialist at the Bradley School in Portsmouth, has since been suspended from his job.

State Police said at this time there is no evidence any of the students were victimized.
