Portsmouth, Scituate and East Providence Girls Claim State Soccer Championships

It was Championship Sunday in Rhode Island with three girls state soccer titles up for grabs.
In Division 1, Portsmouth scored on four of five penalty kicks to overcome LaSalle, 2 to 1. It’s the Patriots third title in three years.
In Division II, Samantha Oster scored the only goal of the game to life Scituate over Burrillville, 1-0. It’s the Spartans 5th state soccer crown.
In Division III, East Providence and Johnston went to penalty kicks with the Townies prevailing for the 3 to 2 victory. It’s the Townies first ever girls soccer title.
