Positive COVID-19 cases in R.I rise to 124
PROVIDENCE, RI (WLNE) – In a press conference on Tuesday, Governor Raimond announced 18 new positive cases of COVID-19, bring the states new total to 124.
The exact age of these patients is not known at this time.
According to Director of Health, Doctor Alexander Scott, the DOH is administering over 200 tests a day, and continue to monitor those who are hospitalized.
The Governor announced that since several childcare facilities are remaining open, new emergency regulations are being enforced by the Department of Health (DOH).
The DOH will be doing surprise check-ups to make sure the new protocols are being followed.
Governor Raimondo announced a partnership with care.com , a website exclusively for Rhode Islanders, that is used to help essential workers find child and eldercare.
The hope is the caregivers with volunteer their time at reduced or no cost.
Governor Raimondo also noted that several superintendents said remote learning is “off to a terrific beginning”, and attendance was great.
