Possible scattered showers for our Thursday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Unsettled weather pattern lifts out of the area overnight leaving us with a pleasant day on Friday.

For today, the sun makes it’s appearance, but the clouds quickly overtake the performance.

 

Expect some sprinkle and random scattered showers today. The reason for this is we have cold air aloft and as warm air rises the cold air sinks. The clouds build up and we have rain about 1500ft above the surface but when that cold, dry air sinks, it eats up the moisture resulting in some sprinkle, and scattered showers.

 

For tomorrow, a brief bit of high pressure settles in for the afternoon.

Next round of organized rain moves in Saturday afternoon.

FRIDAY: High 62. Winds S 5-10. Mostly cloudy.

SATURDAY: High 54. Winds E 15-20mph. Mostly cloudy. Rain after 4pm: 40%

SUNDAY: High 61. Mostly cloudy with rain. Winds E 20mph. Rain 40%

MONDAY: High 63. 30% early morning showers.

TUESDAY: High 58. Mixture of sun and clouds.

WEDNESDAY: High 57. Evening rain 30%.
