Power restored to more than 20,000 after brief outage

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) _ Power has been restored to more than 20,000 residents in Warwick and surrounding communities.     

National Grid said at least 27,000 customers lost power around 2 p.m. Monday. Power was restored about an hour later.

The outage affected customers in Warwick, West Warwick, East Greenwich, Coventry, and parts of Cranston.

The Warwick Mall was temporarily closed after losing power.               

National Grid says the cause of the outage is unknown.
