Powerful Storm Headed This Way

A Powerful storm will blast into southern New England late Tuesday night, with snow, wind and coastal flooding into Wednesday morning. The worst of the storm is expected on the Cape/Islands, but dangerous wintry conditions are possible for much of SE MA and even parts of RI.

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for areas east and southeast of Providence, including Newport County, RI and Plymouth & Bristol counties in MA. Additionally, a Blizzard Watch has been posted for the Cape/Islands where the snow/wind are expected to make for very dangerous travel, with heavy snow, near-zero visibilities and possible coastal flooding. These watches go into effect at midnight Tuesday night, and last through Wednesday morning.

The snow will exit the region Wednesday afternoon, but gusty NW winds (40-60 mph gusts) will continue throughout the day.
