An unattended pressure cooker, left in a parking lot at Twin River Casino, caused some scary moments and a lot of confusion.

Around 9:40 Saturday morning a patron at the casino saw a suspicious package in between two parked cars in the north lot. That man alerted security, who called in local and state police to investigate the metal device.

During that same time security was able to track down the car owner. The woman came outside, and admitted to accidently leaving a pressure cooker out, according to Sgt. Al Ruggiero of the Rhode Island State Police.

The casino was never evacuated given the distance of the lot to the venue. The parking lot was blocked off for some time. Bomb technicians were able to determine there was no threat and the scene was cleared a short time later.

State Police applaud the patron who came forward after seeing something he thought didn’t look right.
