Previously delayed Taunton bridge demolition to occur Friday
TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation said that the bridge demolition that was delayed last week will happen Friday night.
The demolition of the bridge located on Route 24 northbound, just north of the on-ramp from Route 140, will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday and is expected to be completed by 9 a.m. on Saturday.
The DEM said the work will require the temporary closure of the right lane on Route 24 northbound between exit 16 and the Hart Street overpass.
Elevated noise levels in the area should be expected, and drivers should use caution and expect delays.
More information on the demolition can be found on the Mass511 website.
