Providence, R.I. – The Diocese of Providence today announced that the Reverend B. Samuel Turillo is now prohibited from exercising the sacred ministry after the Diocese received a credible accusation regarding alleged sexual misconduct involving a minor that took place approximately 60 years ago.

Upon recently receiving the allegation, the Diocese immediately reported the information to the Rhode Island State Police and the Attorney General’s Office. Simultaneously, diocesan officials launched an investigation that concluded the allegation was of a credible nature.

Reverend Turillo was assigned to a number of parishes in the Diocese from 1946-1994.  He retired for active ministry in 1994 and is now living in private residence.
