Princeton’s Paxson to lead Brown University

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – Brown University has named a Princeton University economist its next president.
The Ivy League school announced Friday that Christina Hull Paxson had been selected for the position. She is the dean of the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at
Princeton.
Brown says Paxson will take over on July 1.
Chancellor Thomas Tisch says Paxson embodies the values, skills, talent and leadership style that Brown needs.
Paxson will take over from Ruth Simmons, the first African-American to lead an Ivy League university, who says she plans to finish some writing projects before returning to Brown as a faculty member.
