Protesters and Police Clash in Brockton

BROCKTON, MASS (WLNE) – Protestors and Police clashed Tuesday night right outside police headquarters.

The tense stand-off escalated after someone from the crowd threw lit fireworks and launched water bottles at the police.

Police had to set off pepper spray to disperse and break up the crowds.

Earlier on Tuesday, there was a peaceful protest outside of city hall.

“Keep it peaceful and show the world we are peaceful. Protestors are people and we’re not bad, or hateful”, one protestor said.

The Nation Guard had a presence in the city earlier that day.
