Providence armed robbery leaves one injured, assailant at large

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence police said Wednesday that one person was stabbed after an armed robbery near the Southside Cultural Center.

Police told ABC 6 News that they got a call from the Shell gas station on Elmwood Avenue for a report of a man stabbed.

Workers at the gas station confirmed to ABC 6 that a man came into the store asking to use their phone to call 911.

Police said the victim suffered minor finger lacerations and was treated when first responders arrived on-scene.

While police suspect’s identity is unknown at this time, police told ABC 6 they left in a silver car.

No further information was immediately released.
