Providence brings back summer programs for youth

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence Mayor Brett Smiley said Tuesday that he’s bringing back the summer program, “EAT, PLAY, LEARN PVD.”

The programs offer free summer meals, recreation opportunities, and summer employment for the city’s youth.

“We know that what students do in the summer and outside of school can have big impacts on their long-term academic success,” said Smiley.

Families can sign up online starting April 29 and can attend the Summer opportunities Fair at the Providence Career and Technical Academy from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day to learn more about these programs.
