PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The #ThinkPVD campaign is coming back to the capital city for the eighth year.

The goal of the campaign is to encourage holiday shoppers to support small businesses in Providence. It will be launched just before “Small Business Saturday” this weekend.

“Our small businesses are the backbone of our economy and it’s important to support them while we shop this holiday season,” said Mayor Jorge Elorza.

The city will also be hosting a three-day festival called, “Three Nights of Lights.”

The festival includes three nights of WaterFire, The Avenue Concept’s nighttime art gallery, and ice skating performances.

For the rest of 2022, Providence will offer free two-hour parking from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. in 18 commercial districts. For the list of streets, click here.

Anyone coming to Providence is encouraged to download the free Passport Parking app to pay for parking.
