Providence celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with parade, Tour de Patrick 5k

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The city of Providence held their annual St. Patrick’s Day parade and 5k race Saturday morning.

The streets were packed as residents of all ages gathered to watch the parade.

The parade featured floats, traditional bagpipe playing and plenty of escorts from Providence firefighters and police.

A float also carried live musical entertainment through the city’s streets.

A 5k race followed the parade as festive racers ran the streets in green. A kids run was also held after the race.
