Providence College announces new restrictions to prevent the spread of COVID-19

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- Providence College announced new COVID-19 restrictions for students on Thursday.

Students are now expected to only go out for essential needs, such as class, going grocery shopping, or going to work.

There will also be no fans or spectators allowed at any sporting event.

Providence College is suspending any kind of field work, student teaching, or practicums until further notice.

Students living on-campus are no longer allowed to visit any students living off-campus.

However, in person classes will continue.

The school says that the goal is to keep the positivity rate below the current rate of 2%.
