Providence College earns silver 2023-2024 Military Friendly School designation
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence College announced Monday it earned the silver rank of a 2023-2024 Military Friendly School designation.
The designations are awarded using public data sources and survey answers. The college said more than 1,800 other schools participated in the survey and 530 schools were awarded different levels of designation: Gold, silver and bronze.
Military Friendly representatives said final ratings are determined by combining a school’s survey scores with the assessment of their ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence (degree advancement or transfer) and loan default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.
“Providence College is honored to receive this designation from Military Friendly,” said Sean. Reid, Ph.D., Provost and Senior Vice President for academic affairs, and a retired U.S. Navy officer.
“Supporting military members, as well as their family members, has been a priority for PC for generations. We are deeply committed to assisting service members with their educational needs and in their transition to college students. It’s the least we could do to show our gratitude for their service,” he continued.
The 2023-2024 Military Friendly Schools List will be published in the May and October issue of G.I. Jobs magazine and can be found at militaryfriendly.com.
